I just finished one of the most incredible short stories I've read in a very long time. The name of the story is "The Scheme of Things" by Charles D'Ambrosio. It is from his collection of eight short stories called "The Dead Fish Museum." This story, as well as the entire book is a MUST read for anyone interested in stories of detailed imagery of life against a backdrop of heightened reality, and a very subtle supernatural that wraps itself around these characters like a moon glow that won't fade. Just amazing; you must read at least "The Scheme of Things."
"The Scheme of Things" is available on The New Yorker website at no cost for those who'd like to access the story and read it. Here's the link. If you read it, let me know your thoughts. Talk soon, ey!
